Parkland Health Diabetes Survey App

Parkland Health worked with Tekzenit’s development team to produce an initial app prototype that assists doctors and parents of diabetic children in recording health information. The initial prototype was assessed through a heuristic evaluation, then tested through a lab-based usability test with eye tracking. This testing directed a redesign of the app that reduced time on task by nearly 60% and nearly doubled the System Usability Score to a well above average rating.

Participants’ actions and clicks were recorded utilizing Techsmith’s Morae Recorder; gaze behaviors were recorded utilizing Tobii’s Eye-Tracking System; and participants’ experiences were evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS).
